Session Fees for Individual Clients

My all-inclusive standard fees for individual hypnotherapy, IBS or coaching sessions are £70.00 per session, which normally last a minimum of one hour. Any extras, such as bespoke audio CD recordings of sessions, handouts or emailed reading materials, are all provided at no extra cost (see below under 'What's Included In The Price?').

N.B. My emphasis is in doing a thorough job in a relaxed and friendly fashion while giving my clients the full professional attention they need in order to achieve whatever are their goals. I therefore sometimes allow longer than an hour, at my own discretion, while always being careful to not over-squeeze my diary in order to avoid clock-watching, short-changing clients on session time, or abrupt closures to sessions. You will find that this high quality and added-value-for-money approach to therapy, counselling and coaching will be more effective for you, giving you the generous and appropriate amount of time and attention that you need to move forward in the right way. This will be particularly evident at your first in-depth consultation session for which I will allow anything from 90 minutes to 2 hours as standard for no extra fee. It is really important to me to build excellent rapport, trust and a solid working relationship with my clients, and I am of the opinion that this cannot be achieved in a climate of rushed and over-stacked appointments. Most hourly session rates out there really mean one hour tops, or even 50 minutes plus client change-over time, which can sometimes be adequate, but sometimes not. I aim for an altogether more attentive, pleasant, relaxing and ultimately successful experience. You get what you pay for.

Extra Long Sessions - Three Hours for the Price of Two

However, ‘extra long sessions’ planned to last up to three hours at a time can be guaranteed for a three-for-two overall discounted price of £140.00. This can be very useful if, for example, you feel you have a lot to unburden yourself from or get off your chest, particularly if you have deep and complex issues to deal with such as depression, mid-life crisis, bereavement or childhood trauma. These are states for which discussing things at length on a non-judgemental and empathetic one-to-one basis can be a really good idea, as this can in itself be a very cathartic and therapeutic part of the process of self-healing, self-improvement, reaching understanding and resolution, and ultimately moving forward. You may be very surprised to discover how quickly time can fly when you are engaged in deep, meaningful, personal conversation. So don't short-change yourself if you feel you might need this level of time and attention, because many people do, and they benefit greatly when they receive that high level of focussed attention, which is undoubtedly a rare thing indeed in this busy, modern world we live in, even for people who are regularly surrounded by the closest of family, friends and colleagues.

Smoking Cessation

The only exception to the above pricing is for my Smoking Cessation sessions, which cost £150.00 for a one-off three-hour session with various built in extras, including a back-up support guarantee.

Corporate NLP Coaching and Hypnotherapy, Stress Management and Group Training Sessions

These would have to be discussed and negotiated in detail, but as a rough guide, my professional daily rates would typically be anything from £500 to £1,000, and possibly more depending upon how much time, preparation and materials are involved.

What is included in the price?

Any hypnotherapy recordings or motivational recordings provided to individual clients are all included within the quoted session price, as are any subsequent handouts, emailed advice and/or resources or other relevant materials.

Bespoke Recordings and other resources

Where a meeting or session involves hypnotherapy, I record the session digitally (with your permission) and then edit it and copy it onto audio CD for your repeated listening between sessions and beyond our time together, all within the price. Depending on what clients come to me for, they will likely gain valuable handouts, articles, guides,
e-books, and links to relevant website resources along with other appropriate recordings, all provided within the session price as part of their ‘homework’ between sessions and for ongoing reference. This is all about getting the job done and doing it right. This kind of ‘homework’ is usually a necessary interactive part of therapy and/or coaching sessions so that my clients can learn more about their own problem or issue in order that they can grow towards becoming a self-manager of it. It may also include practising certain techniques that may be taught to you.

How many sessions will it take?

NLP coaching is usually carried out over six sessions over a three-month period. IBS therapy usually takes a similar pattern unless there are extra underlying psychological issues affecting the IBS, which can necessitate several additional sessions.

However, for other hypnotherapy and counselling, it is impossible to say. Every client has their own set of needs which can see numbers of sessions ranging from one to twelve. However, as a rough guide, some issues can be dealt in just a couple of sessions, and the majority between 4 and 6 sessions. I have no way of accurately predicting how many sessions you will need until we have completed the initial consultation session. Following this first meeting, I will then be in a position to consider my findings and put together my recommendations for your therapy or coaching, which you are under no obligation to accept or continue with or complete at any given point in time.

You Stay in Control of Numbers of Sessions

Rest assured, you do not ever have to sign up for a pre-ordained number of sessions and may cease booking and paying for more sessions at any point you choose. You always remain in the driving seat. Unlike the typical Hollywood stereotypes of psychiatrists who milk their patients for years on end, my emphasis is in meeting my clients’ needs quickly, safely, ethically and cost effectively with great value for money. In fact, my professional associations are clear in the ethical principle that I should cease treatment just as soon as the client feels ready to go it alone.

After Service

That said, although I do not encourage ‘therapist dependency’, nor do I ever abandon my clients. Indeed, I always keep my door ajar for clients to return to me any time they want, whether for a ‘top-up’ session, or to work on a different aspect of their lives. Equally, if I hear of any news or developments in the subject for which they came to me, and which I feel could benefit them, I would let them know as part of my ongoing personal commitment to provide good service as long as they were happy for me to keep in touch from time to time.

Advertising costs knock a huge hole in my pocket and so as far as I am concerned, the lifeblood of my business is in gaining referrals and personal recommendations by word of mouth. But such good business has to be thoroughly earned by establishing an excellent reputation via a network of thoroughly satisfied customers who have been well looked after and not exploited in any way. My aim will be to make you so delighted and impressed with me and my services that you will want to recommend me to your family, friends or colleagues as and when appropriate.
