The Problems and Causes of Stress

 

Stress is a common enemy of good health and reliable functioning in both body and mind. These include (in no particular order): relationships; family; work pressures; job and appraisal interviews; peer pressures; social phobias; blushing; money pressures; physical environment; traffic and transport worries; road rage; media news; techno fear; bullying; childhood or past traumas; fear of the future, and so forth.

We all need a certain level of stress to function in life and many people thrive on it. However, excessive and prolonged stress can start to become a problem when it interferes with our sleep, our peace of mind and our general health. Such excessive and/or prolonged stress is medically proven to lower our immune system leaving us more open and vulnerable to attack from all manner of illnesses and diseases. Of course, the arrival of such illnesses and diseases produces even more stress, and so develops a vicious circle.

Self-Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy for Stress Management

 

For those with deeper and more individual stress issues, a course of comforting counselling and relaxing hypnotherapy can be a real tonic, with positive suggestions delivered directly to the subconscious mind in a collaborative process of constructive mind reprogramming and positive reinforcement. Some of these techniques can be taught for later self-hypnosis. Other aspects of hypnotherapy are received by clients on a more passive basis, although backed up by bespoke CD recordings of the sessions, which can be used along with the power of ‘spaced repetition’ to enhance the effectiveness of the live sessions by repeated listening in the comfort of your own home or parked vehicle (NB. never play hypnotherapy recordings while in a moving vehicle).
